January 26, 2006 – A new FDIC on-line tool was released to help educate consumers how to better protect their computers and themselves from identity theft, and steps to take if they have been victimized. The presentation: Don’t Be an On-Line Victim: How to Guard Against Internet Thieves and Electronic Scams is on the FDIC’s website. The link also provides access to the FDIC’s quarterly newsletter that covers common issues and how new banking trends may affect you.
MyMoney.gov is the U.S. government’s website dedicated to teaching all Americans the basics about financial education. The site provides information from 20 different Federal agencies and Bureaus designed to the help you make smart financial choices.
